Mathias Kpoulomou, Student - African Aquatic Conservation Fund

Mathias is a Masters degree student at the University of Kankan in Guinea. After successfully completing training in manatee research and conservation techniques as part of a Guinea Manatee Fellowship from 2022-2024, Mathias began his Master studies in 2025. He has a previous engineering diploma from the University of Conakry, and he has worked as a math teacher, for several non-profit organizations, as the coordinator for a project to raise oysters, and on projects for reforestation and teaching the importance of mangroves. His current Masters research focuses on the human perceptions and impacts to African manatees in Guinea’s interior rivers.
