Dr. Anders Rhodin is an AACF Board Member. He is an orthopedic surgeon and worldwide turtle expert based in Lunenburg, MA. He has written approximately 200 scientific publications, primarily on turtles and tortoises, with an emphasis on systematics (six new turtle species described) and conservation biology. He is also the Founder and Director of the Chelonian Research Foundation and the Founding Editor and Publisher of Chelonian Conservation and Biology, Chelonian Research Monographs, and the Turtle and Tortoise Newsletter. Anders is a Chair Emeritus and Red List Coordinator of the IUCN Species Survival Commission, Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Specialist Group, and a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission, Marine Turtle Specialist Group. Anders also serves on the boards of directors of the Turtle Survival Alliance, the Turtle Conservancy, and the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund.
