Nyan Sangbe

Sangbe is a Masters degree student at Gamal Abdel Nasser University in Conakry, Guinea. After successfully completing training in manatee research and conservation techniques as part of a Guinea Manatee Fellowship from 2022-2024, Sangbe began his Master studies in 2025. He has a previous Masters degree in Zoology from Gamal Abdel Nasser University where he focused on reptiles and amphibians, and since 2012 he has worked as a wildlife consultant studying reptiles for several consulting firms conducting environmental and social impact assessments. His current Masters research focuses on threats to African manatees in Guinea’s interior rivers.
